I’m going to give you all of the tea. And y’all know I don’t hold back.

Let’s get into it…

This episode was inspired by a sermon by T. D. Jakes sermon and a podcast by Tatum Temia about the parable of the Talents, and I just felt like God was downloading into my spirit, the idea of obedience.

Typically we think about obedience in terms of not sinning. However, this notion of obedience relates to our purpose!

In Genesis, the first commandment given to man was to be fruitful and multiply.

I believe this was not just related to having kids and it’s about abundantly bringing forth fruit.

Mathew 25:14-30, Parable of the Talents. The master was traveling, and he entrusted his property to his servants. Y’all know how the story goes.

Let’s focus on the servant with two talents.

Not once did he compare himself from a deficit standpoint or got an attitude for getting two talents.

Instead,  he took what he was given, recognized the blessing in it, got to work, invested it, and doubled his return on investment.

That is an abundance mindset!

Fear should not be an excuse as to why we aren’t walking in our God-given purpose!

Let’s get into it…

As an entrepreneur, I know how it is to be in consumption mode and not feel ready to start creating because of wanting things to be perfect.

When babies are learning how to walk, we put them on the ground and walk away, knowing fully well that they are going to fall because they’re afraid to take that first step. Knowing this, we still start the process!

We allow them to fall and fail but eventually, they get used to it and start walking!

Similarly, you need to allow yourself to take those wobbly messy first steps and start creating in order to serve.

CREATION is part of our purpose; to launch out and to do good works of our own.

In this episode I discuss:

  • Taking the messy first steps
  • Pulling others out of a dark place through coaching
  • You aren’t purposed to coach for free

Episode 076: You are NOT starting from scratch!!!

Episode 076: You are NOT starting from scratch!!!

LISTEN NOW

What’s up, POP Squad!!!

How can you as a coach use your story to help others transform, when you are still writing that story?

First of all…

If you are starting as a new coach, YOU ARE NOT STARTING FROM SCRATCH!!!

You have everything you need to start coaching.

I started as a coach because:

  • I had a coach who coached me throughout the process
  • I loved helping people get unstuck and start

You are not building something out of nothing.

I want to convince you that all of your life experiences, all of your story, all of your corporate experiences is what is going to make you into a coach that allows you to achieve full transformation for your clients.

Many of you guys are already coaching for free!

That niece that you’re coaching or that friend that you spend hours on the phone with, walking them through point A to point B, your patients that you work with, your colleagues…

We are often as women, especially as Black women the coach for others by default.

So, how about we monetize what we’re already doing!

You can build a profitable coaching business.

In this episode I discuss:

  • Using your story to build your framework as a coach
  • Figuring out what to coach on
  • Building and connecting with your community

Episode 075: Selling is Serving

Episode 075: Selling is Serving

LISTEN NOW

What’s up, POP Squad!

Being an entrepreneur is having a service or product that solves a problem in exchange for money.

One of the misconceptions about selling is that it’s sleazy and that it is slimy and it’s a little icky.

It’s easy for us to conceptualize physical product selling versus our intellectual property and we really need to shift away from this.

If you don’t believe in selling, you are not going to show up in all of your authentic greatness.

Selling is an energy transfer and you are allowed to sell because it’s servicing your community and changing lives.

Know your Purpose Proposition and the transformation you provide in your service to be able to converse with your community.

Therefore, for your potential clients to buy into your service, you NEED to be confident in what you do!

This is because selling is not just having a billboard or putting up a post but it’s about showing up with the intent to transform.

In this episode, I discuss:

  •  Figuring out your purpose proposition
  •  Confidence in our selling conversations
  •  Avoiding “pick me, pick me” vibes
  •  Connecting your content to the transformation you can provide

Episode 074: Faith and Entrepreneurship Part 1: Launch Out, Sis

Episode 074: Faith and Entrepreneurship Part 1: Launch Out, Sis

LISTEN NOW

What up, Squad!!!

An experience this week made me really reflect on how to help you take those messy first steps specifically in your entrepreneurial journey.

First, you need to practice failing (pregnant pause). Stick with me y’all…

Second, FAITH. We need to have that small mustard seeds’ faith to take small mustard seed action to the next level.

FAITH BUILDS AS YOU WALK.

Luke 5:1-4…

Simon Peter, James, and John had been fishing all night long but caught nothing.

After a failed launch, just when they were washing their nets so they can be ready for the next catch, Jesus saw them in a state of expectation, setting up for the next round!

He got into Simon’s boat and told him to thrust out a little from the land, launch out into the deep and let down his nets, and what a great catch that was!!

I always say “You can MIND anything you put your Do to™.” Just thrust out a little from the land and when you act on that, He shows up and perfects.

Failure is just data! Take that data and move on.

God sees your steps. He orders them and he blesses you.

In this episode I discuss:

  • Messy first steps as an entrepreneur
  • How to practice failure
  • Launching out into the deep

What’s up, Squad!!!

In this episode, I am LIVE in my Free private Facebook Group The Black Girl Coach Collective sharing with you my reflections on the process of entrepreneurship.

Perfectionism, I believe is one type of procrastination. And this is almost like a sequel to my episode Procrastination Archetypes in Entrepreneurship.

When we operate in perfectionism as entrepreneurs, we change our products over and over until we deem them just right and perfect!

Perfection blocks our blessing and our purpose every time.
If our product or service isn’t out there serving and we’re in our heads thinking it needs to be perfect, then we’re delaying getting it out to the people we can actually help!

Here’s an encouragement for you: 1 Thessalonians 5:24, “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.”

The Bible says that the Lord will perfect that which concerns me. So all I need to do is put my trust in him and show up in Excellence, not Perfection!

In this episode, I discuss:

  • The 3 types of procrastination
  • Difference between Excellence and Perfection
  • Our zone of purpose
  • Letting God perfect that which concerns us

Hey, hey, Squad!

Y’all can already tell I’m excited and pumped about this episode on CONFIDENCE!

I am LIVE in my Free private Facebook Group The Black Girl Coach Collective sharing with you actionable strategies that I used to gain confidence coaching, as a new coach.

As women of faith, as Black women, it is our birthright to command premium rates in our business. Right off the gate, you can and you should charge premium for the transformation you provide.

All coaches that you see and admire, started off somewhere. And I want to submit to you that courage is what you need to take the first step, but confidence is a muscle you build as you’re walking.

As a coach, and especially in the beginning, you need to have confidence to show up in coaching calls, and more importantly on sales calls.

So, how do I become confident?

The first thing is to recognize that if you can provide someone with transformation and get them from point A to point B and document this process, you are a coach! Even if that person was you. Coaching yourself is one of the hardest things to do.

In this episode, I discuss:

  • Understanding and being clear on the transformation you can provide
  • Leaning into your story
  • Thought leadership
  • Having conversations with your community

Episode 071: Profiles in Purpose: My Q1 Review

Episode 071: Profiles in Purpose: My Q1 Review

LISTEN NOW

What up, Squad!

I am excited and super nervous at the same time about this episode.

I realized that this will be a challenging episode because I’m confronting some uncomfortable things. I’m in a really, really uncomfortable place in my business and Productive on Purpose™ podcast.

During my quarterly reviews, I give you guys an update on my business and what’s going on behind the scenes because I believe that you can’t be what you can’t see.

I’m sharing with you guys the real truth of a wife, mom, boss, Christian entrepreneur, who’s had a lot of false starts, a lot of failures, but is currently actually thriving – which is bananas!

Last year, I was rocking and rolling. I was doing my thing super, super comfortable, but I realized that to get to the next level, I was going to have to shift.

From the survey I did last year, I realized that a majority of my community wanted to start businesses.

Shortly after that, I received a DM from a member of the Squad sometime in late December, early January. She asked me if I could recommend a business coach.

Now that is like my very first offer – Procrastination to Purpose™. The way P2P stood, was a business coaching program.

This was a huge wake-up call for me that my messaging was not aligned with the service that I was offering.

Secondly, from the survey, there were people in my community who love what I did and didn’t know that I was actually selling anything! This made me really take a step back.

It was a very humbling moment for me. And I’m grateful for that moment because it catalyzed a ton of shifts for me and my business.
